South Africa’s leading diamond business in search of a dynamic, entrepreneurial, and operational genius Operational Finance Manager to come on board to perform a company-wide role. It is a business partnering role with a strong focus on operations, so applicants must be comfortable to work closely with departments outside of the finance team.

My client is nearly a century strong, providing the highest quality diamonds and jewelry to clients the world over; from celebrities and crown jewels to every other conceivable purpose. They have been leaders in the industry for years and are growing from strength to strength. The Finance Business Partner / Operations Manager must enjoy problem-solving and must be operationally strong with an entrepreneurial flair. Applicants must be a CA(SA) with at least 5 years post articles experience. Compliance, risk management, implementation of processes and internal controls will be your daily bread.

The incumbent will take responsibility for stock, logistics, internal audit controls, facilities management, security, lease management plus health and safety. The successful candidate must be comfortable with developing procedure documents to mitigate risks and prevent fraud for various cycles in the group.

As the Finance Business Partner you will be responsible for:

Ensure risk management, governance, internal controls, and compliance to required standards
Ensure compliance to legislative and corporate governance
Manage vendor relationships, order management as well as the procurement and logistics / delivery of materials for production
Ensure stock levels are reviewed and assessed, variances accounted for and appropriate
Internal controls implemented to manage stock risks
Assist in negotiation and revision of leases
Oversee the company’s properties, buildings and equipment to ensure that the workspace is safe and functional
Oversee maintenance, security and catering management tasks that promote a clean, safe and healthy working environment for employees

Job Experience and Skills Required:

CA(SA) with minimum of 5 years post articles experience
IFRS 16
Extensive experience in managing teams is non-negotiable
