The Operational Purchaser will be responsible for making the sourcing process of the company more efficient, securing and analysing quotations, negotiating of prices and terms, purchasing of goods, materials and services, manage incoming logistics process and processing of the appropriate documentation. Develops new sources of supply and prepares agreements that ultimately help the company increase their operational profit.

What are my responsibilities?

• Implements plans to assure orders meet specified quality and delivery times and to minimize the total cost of purchases.
• Documents performance to action plans and timelines for assigned sourcing projects.
• Establishes supplier base in conformance with Corporate guidelines.
• Handles requests for information, quotations, proposals, and bidding processes.
• Evaluates current and potential suppliers .
• Negotiates with suppliers to meet quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
• Executes contract negotiation.
• Perform strategic sourcing activities.
• Preparation, shipping and receiving of products – in-bound logistics.
• First line support to sales, production and project manager to promote accurate and timely processing of purchase orders.
• Monthly inventory analysis and reporting to management.

What do I need to qualify for this job?

• 5 to 7 years’ experience in a role of buying and material logistics which includes both freight and importation within the manufacturing segment.
• A tertiary qualification within the related role.
• Worked in a similar position for a medium sized company.
• Knowledge on SAP R/3 would be an major advantage.
• Proficient in Excel and MS Office applications.
• Must be well organised and a self-starter.
• Must be detail oriented, professional attitude and reliable.
• Possess strong organisational and time management skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Ability to perform mathematical computations such as percentages, fractions, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division quickly and accurately.
