Operations Manager

SUMMARY:
A distinguished luxury lodge in the heart of the Victoria Falls region is seeking a dynamic, experienced, and hands-on 𝗢𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦 𝗠𝗔𝗡𝗔𝗚𝗘𝗥 to oversee all aspects of lodge performance.

POSITION INFO:
The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, operational excellence, and a deep understanding of luxury safari hospitality, with an emphasis on sustainability, guest experience, and high-performance team management.

Candidate Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage daily operations across all departments, including front office, housekeeping, maintenance, food & beverage, and activities
• Maintain and elevate guest experience to 5-star luxury standards, ensuring personalized service at every touchpoint
• Recruit, train, and mentor lodge staff to promote a high-performance culture with a strong emphasis on local community engagement
• Drive cost-effective and efficient operational systems while maintaining exceptional quality
• Collaborate closely with head office on reporting, forecasting, and compliance with internal procedures and standards
• Oversee health & safety practices, ensuring full adherence to environmental and guest security regulations
• Ensure all procurement and inventory processes are conducted according to approved budgets and policies
• Partner with the Executive Chef and activities team to ensure elevated culinary and adventure experiences
• Uphold brand integrity through quality control, sustainability initiatives, and innovation
• Oversee two luxury properties

• Minimum 5–7 years’ experience in a senior lodge or hotel operations management role, preferably in a remote or safari environment
• Strong understanding of the luxury safari lodge market and discerning international clientele
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Proven track record in managing large, diverse teams
• Financial acumen, including budget creation and cost control
• Hands-on, solutions-driven approach with the ability to remain calm under pressure
• Passion for conservation, community engagement, and responsible tourism
• Willingness to live on-site in a remote bush location
