SUMMARY:
A well-established manufacturer within the insulated panel, cold storage and industrial construction sector is seeking a highly experienced Operations Manager to lead and optimise plant operations. The successful candidate will provide strategic and hands-on leadership across production, engineering, maintenance, and SHEQ functions to ensure operational excellence and statutory compliance.

POSITION INFO:

Key Responsibilities:

Provide full operational leadership of the manufacturing facility, ensuring production targets, quality standards, and cost efficiencies are achieved.
Oversee plant maintenance strategies to ensure maximum equipment uptime and reliability.
Ensure full compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, including legal appointments.
Act as a legally appointed Section 16.2 in terms of OHS legislation.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives aligned to lean manufacturing and operational best practice.
Manage operational budgets, capital expenditure, and resource allocation.
Lead and develop multidisciplinary teams, fostering a high-performance culture.
Ensure SHEQ compliance and promote a strong safety culture throughout the operation.
Collaborate with executive management to align operational strategy with overall business objectives.
Oversee risk management, audits, and statutory inspections.

Minimum Requirements:

BEng Mechanical Engineering or BSc Mechanical Engineering (non-negotiable).
GCC (Factories) essential OR proven experience appointed as a Section 16.2 in a manufacturing environment.
Minimum 8–10 years’ experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
At least 5 years in a senior operations or plant leadership role.
Strong knowledge of plant engineering, asset management, and production planning.
Proven track record of managing large teams and driving operational performance.
Sound understanding of statutory compliance, risk management, and engineering governance.
