Location: Midrand, Gauteng
Salary: R1.4 Million CTC per annum (Negotiable)

Our client, a leading industrial services and container solutions company, is seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager to lead and grow their Gauteng operation based in Midrand.

POSITION INFO:
Role Overview
The successful candidate will take full responsibility for the performance of the Gauteng division, overseeing operations, financial management, business development, sales, and a mechanical workshop specialising in container modifications and conversions. This position reports directly to the Managing Director.

This is a hands-on leadership role requiring a technically strong individual with excellent commercial and financial acumen. The successful candidate will lead a team of approximately 43 employees while driving operational excellence, profitability, and sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the strategic direction and execution of the Gauteng operation.
• Manage the container rental business and workshop operations.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and monthly financial performance.
• Drive business growth and market penetration initiatives.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of approximately 43 employees.
• Ensure operational performance aligns with financial and growth objectives.
• Identify customer needs and drive product innovation initiatives.
• Oversee container modification and conversion projects from concept to completion.
• Foster a culture of accountability, safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
• Work closely with financial management to ensure profitability and effective capital deployment.
• Maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and key stakeholders.

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Non-Negotiable)
• Minimum 8 years' experience in small business or operational management.
• Proven leadership experience within an industrial, manufacturing, engineering, or technical environment.
• Strong financial management and budgeting experience.
• Demonstrated commercial and business development skills.
• Ability to interpret technical and operational information and make sound business decisions.
• Strong people management and team leadership capabilities.
