Operations Manager

SUMMARY:
Join a leader in the Control and communications industry as an Operations Manager. Use your Management and Leadership capabilities to provide strategic and operational support to the Operations team.

POSITION INFO:

Responsible for implementing and driving the mission for the operations team

Building a strong technical and commercial competent organisation focusing on NPI and core technology

Establish required manufacturing capabilities with the necessary capacity and skill set to meet customer demand

Manufacture and deliver of quality products in due time

Management control of the value stream

Support early engagement during new production introduction to facilitate ease of manufacturing (DFM)

Inventory management

Ensure operations meets legal requirements

Play an active role in SACAA, AS9100 and customer audits

Skills & Experience:  

Must have excellent leadership and executive skills

Experience in leading production process, controlling cost, quality control, operational efficiency, optimization, Financial Reporting, standard costing and order/material usage variances

Must have experience in managing large production team  

Must have ERP system knowledge (Syspro or similar)

Formal training or experience in QMS environment

Experience and knowledge of ISO, SHE, BCEA & LRA

Experience in managing a scheduled workforce (MEIBC)

Must be computer literate

Aeronautical Quality Management Systems knowledge would be advantageous

Lean or Six-Sigma background would be advantageous

Process improvement techniques is advantageous

Must have 6 – 10 years’ management experience in a manufacturing environment

Qualification:

BEng / BSc / BTech Mechanical engineering / Industrial Engineering / Electronic Engineering or Production/Operations Management

CPIM/CSCP
