Operations Manager

Purpose: Manage the operations of MARC sites and develop relationships with new and existing customer base.

Minimum Qualifications: Certificate: Diesel Mechanic OR Certificate: Electrician OR Certificate: Millwright; Bachelor of Business Management.

Minimum Experience: Mining equipment or mining industry: Operational 7 years; Managerial 3 years.

Roles and Responsibilities include inter alia:
Strategy Implementation and Maintenance
Assist with the implementation of the MARC department strategies and objectives to the Business strategy.
Drive implementation of the MARC departments’ strategies and objectives in line with clients’ long-term strategies.
Drive strategy maintenance management on sites.
Ensure continuous improvement of service quality against the clients’ requirements.
Manage equipment maintenance in order to maximise reliability and availability.

Operations Management
Analyse customer needs and submit reports.
Provide technical and professional support to customers.
Assist with the timeous execution of costing and quotation process on sites.
Communicate with operational level client base regarding technical assistance or needs.
Retain the current market.
Identify and exploit new business opportunities.

Procurement
Approve the operational related procurement documentation processes.

Environment Compliance
Monitor compliance with environmental management practices that minimise the effects of operations on the environment.
Ensure compliance with contractual, management plan, statutory and regulatory requirements.
Promote environmentally responsible work practices
