JOB SUMMARY:
My client in the insurance industry is looking for a dynamic, go-getter, who is resilient, decisive and rule bound with strong organisational skills.  The position is based within the Rivonia area.  The ideal candidate should reside in this area and/or surrounding areas.

The ideal candidate is capable of collecting information and imparting it to others.  Whilst being adaptable, will need to ensure strict conformity with rules, systems and protocols.  The area of work has administrative, specialist and technical aspects and the ideal incumbent fulfilling the role should have the necessary persistence to see a job through to conclusion.  Standard operating procedures are important aspects of this role and as such, it will require an individual who is very organised, structured, self-controlled and disciplined, friendly and capable of communicating facts within the required area of knowledge and expertise.  The ideal candidate fulfilling the role should be consistent in approach, analytical, sensitive, precise, logical, systematic and above all, compliant.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

In summary, the ideal candidate shall be the Executive Director's right hand assuming management of an operations team that consists of approximately 5 employees, and integration across other functional areas of the business including HR (1 employee), and marketing (1 employee).

Responsibilities shall include, namely:
Acquiring at speed in-depth knowledge of job descriptions, processes and output of direct reports:
- Healthcare technical accountant
- Policy administrators
- Employee benefits administrator
- Claims administrators
- Marketing consultant
- Ensure all processes are maintained as current with monthly review and update where necessary
- Ensure accuracy of outputs
- Ensure that output deadlines are met
- Existing business retention through optimal administration
- Systems improvement and development
- Staff training
- Reporting
- Analysis
- New business implementation
- Administrative broker support
- Administrative broker training
- Presentations to management, staff, brokers
- Development of Company product knowledge
- Development of own industry knowledge
- Acquiring knowledge of competition and product comparisons
- Keeping up to date with CPD, as required by legislation

Competencies, qualifications and experience required:
- Evaluate situations, calculate and reduce risk, justify and defend accuracy, give reasons for views and generally provide shrewd judgement in any situation
- Search for errors, rectify omissions, perfect systems and procedures which will ultimately raise the quality and standards of all tasks undertaken
- Introduce monitoring systems that identify whether individuals or the organisation are achieving their objectives, as well as any variances in terms of goals and timescales. Ensure corrective action plans are formulated and implemented
- Provide the best possible solution to problem solving or decision making by conscientiously testing, examining facts, trying different alternatives and careful strategic planning
- Develop networks and identify resources as and when necessary
- Develop trust and be willing to build relationships and coach and assist others
- Provide simple, practical solutions and complete all assignments thoroughly and timeously
- Listen, absorb and digest information and at the same time build and capitalise stable relationships
- Adopt an accommodating and helpful manner, debate, agree and, where necessary, accept the objectives set by others and work within agreed parameters to ensure that tasks are completed
- Above average communication skills (both in the verbal and written context)
- Ability to handle criticism
- Must have a tertiary qualification, ideally BCOM in Business Management and/or Administration
- Must have at least 6 years + experience in an Insurance Management role
- Must have completed or show near completion in the following: RE (1) and RE (5) (**this is non negotiable)
