Operations Manager - Accounting

SUMMARY:
The purpose of the role is to manage operations and deadlines in the accounting, taxation and payroll departments while ensuring compliance.

POSITION INFO:
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS Undergraduate degree in Accounting 5+ Years experience in accounting, taxation and payroll Process management experience Previous experience in Xero, with strong Excel abilities KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Manage a portfolio of accounting and tax clients across multiple industries Review work prepared by junior accountants and provide mentoring and technical guidance Allocate workloads and oversee staff productivity and performance Prepare and review annual financial statements Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports Submit and calculate, where applicable, VAT, PAYE, EMP501, Income Tax and Provisional Tax returns Liaise directly with SARS regarding audits, objections and taxpayer queries Manage payroll processing and statutory submissions Manage Workmen's Compensation (WCA\/RMA) submissions Ensure client deadlines are consistently met Provide financial and tax advice to clients Identify opportunities to improve internal processes and efficiencies
