Operations Manager, Gqeberha

SUMMARY:
We are seeking an Operations Manager for a permanent role based in Gqeberha, Eastern Cape.

POSITION INFO:

Applicants are required to meet the following criteria:

• Eng / BTech in Chemical Engineering (Chemical Engineering Qualification is preferred. Civil and Mechanical will be considered depending on relevant experience)
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in advanced water treatment
• Experience in RO, UF, Precipitation, Clarification will be an advantage
• Previous experience in managing staff will be an advantage
• Understanding of plant health and managing water treatment assets
• Must have MS Office, effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Skills in planning, attention to detail and process troubleshooting

• Oversee and manage respective Plant Supervisor(s), Production & Maintenance teams within the area of responsibility
• Manage production & maintenance team utilization and performance / output
• Responsible for plant performance and Compliance with contractual quality and quantity KPI’s
• Ensure compliance with safety standards
• Take accountability for Safety Performance in accordance with the MHSA/OSHA legal appointment.
• Maintain effective administration and control procedures to meet performance objectives, including financial control, HR/IR, procurement, and stock management.
• Continuous improvement and optimization of processes
• Implement and maintain Financial Control with Profit & Loss accountability for the plant(s)
• Monitoring and detail records and reporting on all aspects of the processes, ongoing projects
• Ensure efficient resource management of employees to ensure they can meet the performance objectives required of them.
• Ensure client satisfaction by delivering a professional and high-quality service.
• Client feedback meetings and reporting as required
• Compile Plant Reports and attend client meetings as required
• Monitor plant health and pro-actively intervene to ensure plant availability is optimized
• Effective reporting to the Operations Manager of the area
• Perform plant operational standby duties
