SUMMARY:
Our client, a globally recognised manufacturer and supplier of specialised products for the road construction and surfacing industry, is seeking to appoint a highly qualified and experienced Operations Manager to oversee their regional operations in Johannesburg.

This is a newly established position, and preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated expertise in continuous improvement, export supply of hazardous chemical materials (Hazchem), and a background within the road construction or surfacing materials sector.

POSITION INFO:
KEY REQUIREMENTS FOR CONSIDERATION:

A tertiary qualification in Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or a relevant field, supported by a minimum of 10 years’ experience in operational leadership, process optimization, and national and international product distribution (including exports).
Proven ability to manage operational budgets, implement continuous improvement strategies, and maintain efficient supply chains in high-pressure, service-driven environments.
Strong business acumen and natural leadership capabilities, with a sound understanding of Hazchem compliance, storage, and distribution protocols.
A solid track record in supplier relationship management, import/export procedures, and third-party logistics coordination.
A valid driver’s licence, access to a reliable vehicle, and a clear credit and criminal record are essential.
