PLC Engineer: Cement Mine (Lichtenburg)

SUMMARY:
We are seeking a skilled PLC / Automation Engineer to design, program, maintain, and optimise PLC-based control systems in a cement processing and mining operation. The role supports plant automation, reliability, and continuous improvement.

POSITION INFO:
⚙️ Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, modify, and troubleshoot PLC programs (e.g. Siemens, Allen-Bradley, and Schneider) Maintain and upgrade PLC, SCADA, and automation systems Develop and test logic diagrams, HMI screens, and control strategies Provide technical support during commissioning, shutdowns, and process changes Troubleshoot control system failures and instrumentation issues Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and engineering standards 🎓 Requirements: Bachelor's degree in: Electrical Engineering Instrumentation \/ Control Mechatronics (or similar) 3-7 years' experience in PLC programming & industrial automation Strong knowledge of: PLC \/ DCS \/ SCADA systems Industrial communication networks Experience with commissioning and troubleshooting large-scale systems Cement or heavy industry experience is advantageous Please send your CV to
