SUMMARY:
The above position has become available with immediate effect based in Westville Durban for a seasoned procurement professional.

POSITION INFO:

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THIS ROLE:

Manage the entire process in the planning of procurement and supply chain activities, inventory control, logistics and distribution, ensuring effectively functioning processes to avoid costly delays and lost opportunities.

Be responsible for introducing process improvements in the supply chain and identify new vendors/suppliers without jeopardizing quality and service delivery.

Manage relationships with vendors, suppliers and contractors.

Implement strategic procurement including sourcing strategy, supplier selection and evaluation, quality management, customer relationship management and performance measurement.

Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual procurement plans and progress reports as required.

Leads teams effectively and shows conflict resolution skills.

Consistently approaches work with energy and a positive, constructive attitude.

Builds strong relationships with clients and external actors.

Able to work under pressure and apply rapid problem solving skills.

Collaborate to deliver improved forecast accuracy and reduced inventory days, logistics costs, by delivering to our customers the right product, at the right time, at the right place, with the right quality, at the right cost.

REQUIREMENTS:

At least 8-10 years Supply Chain experience.
Syspro processing and reporting.
Finance background and knowledge essential.
Chemicals experience: speciality and commodity.
B .Com Degree or Degree in Supply Chain / Procurement Essential.
Exports experience advantageous.
Excellent computer skills are required in the various Microsoft applications.
B. Com degree
A recognized logistics qualification will be a distinct advantage.
Exposure to purchasing and shipping/ logistics principles will also be a distinct advantage.
