PRODUCT & TECHNICAL SERVICES MANAGER Smart Security Technology | IoT | Hardware | Software | Firmware Location: Randburg, Gauteng Salary: R50 000 basic + excellent benefits Are you a senior technical professional who can bridge the gap between Product Development, Engineering, Technical Support and major customers? Our client is a proudly South African technology company specialising in smart security solutions, IoT, cloud-based platforms, video surveillance, access control, tracking and intelligent monitoring technologies . Their solutions combine hardware, software, firmware, connectivity and cloud technology and are deployed across major corporate and enterprise environments in sectors including banking, retail, logistics, telecommunications and commercial property . THE ROLE You will provide senior technical leadership across the organisation, ensuring that products are technically sound, properly tested, successfully deployed, well supported and continuously improved . Your responsibilities will include: Product Development & Lifecycle Contribute to product design, technical development, roadmaps and product releases. Manage product lifecycle activities from development through commercial release. Testing, Validation & Quality Manage UAT, PAT, Proof of Concept deployments and field trials. Investigate technical problems and conduct root-cause analysis. Monitor product performance and provide engineering feedback. Technical Support Leadership Lead and coordinate the Technical Support function. Prioritise escalations and ensure effective resolution of complex technical issues. Enterprise Customer Support Provide advanced technical support to key customers. Participate in technical and operational customer meetings. Technology Rollouts Manage software, firmware and hardware rollout projects across a large installed base of approximately 110,000 field devices . Monitor rollout progress and configuration compliance. Engineering & Supplier Management Manage engineering suppliers and third-party technology partners. Monitor technical deliverables, performance and compatibility. Training & Technical Enablement Develop and deliver technical training. Prepare technical documentation, installation manuals and product specifications. Governance & Change Management Coordinate product change control and change acceptance processes. Facilitate Change Control \/ Change Acceptance Board meetings. Technical Sales Support Support Sales with technical solution design and customer requirements. Participate in technical presentations and customer discussions. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR We are looking for a hands-on technical leader and problem solver , rather than someone whose experience is limited to traditional IT support. You should have: A Diploma or Degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or a related technical discipline . 7-10 years'' experience in technical product support, product development or a closely related environment. Proven experience managing or leading technical teams. Strong experience working with hardware, software and firmware . Experience supporting enterprise-level customers . Solid experience in product testing, validation and quality assurance. Project management experience. Experience working with Engineering teams, developers, suppliers and technology partners. Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities. The ability to investigate problems, identify root causes and implement sustainable solutions. Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills. TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE The successful candidate should have practical knowledge of several of the following: Product lifecycle management Hardware diagnostics Firmware management and releases Software testing Networking SQL databases Windows Server administration Root-cause analysis Change management Quality assurance Technical troubleshooting Product release management Project management Technical documentation Process and governance management WHAT THE COMPANY OFFERS Basic salary: R50 000 per month , depending on experience Company contribution to Medical Aid Company contribution to Provident Fund 13th Cheque Performance Bonus Opportunity to work with sophisticated smart security, IoT, cloud and connected-device technologies A senior role with significant exposure to product development, engineering, enterprise customers and technology deployment
