PRODUCTION MANAGER – ALRODE (3928)

Qualifications:

• Grade 12 / equivalent
• Production Management diploma
• Technical Qualification T4.

Experience and Requirements:

• A minimum of 5 years’ production experience within the steel processing or manufacturing environment
• Bilingual in English and Afrikaans
• Computer literate: MS Excel and Word
• Must be of sober habits
• Must be vaccinated (Covid-19)
• Employee must be free from any disability or impairment.
• Must be able to move around freely around on the shop floor in line with duties assigned by management.
• Must reside in Alberton / surrounding areas.
• Must be able to work shifts
• Must be able to work long hours
• Upheld production ethics (targets, HR, discipline)
• Own transport
• Good physical condition – Must be able to lift, pick up and move stock.
• Must be able to work overtime if and when required by management.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Ensure that areas reporting to him operate at optimum levels at all times through planning, organizing, leading and control.
• Co-ordination of production activities at all machines.
• Random checks (daily), 5’s, Material, tonnage books, handover books, general reporting, and production information verification.
• Health and Safety – Verifications, checks, reporting.
• Scrap control and sign off. High wastage QCP’s.
• Identification of improvements, cost cutting, productivity, policy, and procedures in line with world class practices. CIP Projects.
• Disciplinary actions – up to written warning.
• Control of records – reviewing standards, production quality, SOP
• Production control (Plan, lead, organize, control)
• Periodic maintenance ensuring maximum up time / co-ordination thereof
• Ensure process checks are performed to ensure product conformance to best quality possible.
• Ensure personnel are adequately trained at all times.
• Attendance trends, corrective actions taken through disciplinary policy and / or deviations from SOP’s
• Verification and upkeep of measuring equipment and / or any other equipment in production.
• Any special project, instruction given by management to complete from time to time on adhoc basis.
• Spreadsheets, Production analysis, reports in Excel / Word / PowerPoint to be completed
