PROJECT OFFICER | COORINDATOR – Durbanville, Western Cape

Our client, an established Waste Management concern is search of an Project Officer | Coordinator to be responsible for project implementation.

One would describe you as creative problem solver who possesses exceptional time-management, organisational and communication skills. You are a highly analytical team player!

Main Purpose of the Role:

Support the project team in managing the essential aspects of the project cycle for assigned projects including planning, implementation and monitoring of the project.

Assist the Operations Manager with regular updates and project progress through communication and correspondence with partners.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:


Project Planning
• Working with the Operations Manager to break down complex projects into simpler tasks with set goals and timeframes


Project Implementation and Coordination
• Creating and updating workflows
• Plan, coordinate and deliver all project activities from project initiation to project close


Procurement
• Manage the procurement process for various project initiatives
• Manage performance of all service providers to ensure timeous implementation
• Evaluate and update preferred supplier list annually

Project Monitoring

• Measuring and reporting on the project performance

• Monitoring project progress as well as raising and addressing potential issues

Project Administration
• Scheduling routine internal and external meetings and recording decisions i.e. next steps, assigned tasks, etc.

  • Preparing and providing documentation to key stakeholders and internal teams
  • Acting as the point of contact for all project participants
  • Database administration of all project assets (OneDrive, Cloud)


Qualifications, Skills and Experience needed:

  • Business Administration tertiary qualification or equivalent qualification required
  • Minimum 4 Years Procurement knowledge and relevant project co-ordination/administration experience is required
  • Experience with technical documentation, flowcharts and schedules
  • Project Management qualification is advantageous!
  • Fluency in English and Afrikaans is essential! Further African language is beneficial.
  • MS Office proficiency is essential, in particular strong MS Excel and MS Powerpoint is essential!
  • Proficient on MS Project or other related project systems
  • Valid driver’s license is required
