SUMMARY:
Title: Packaging Team Lead

Our client in the Food Manufacturing Industry is seeking a Packaging Team Lead to join their team based in Midrand. This role will be responsible for overseeing daily packaging operations while ensuring compliance with quality, cost, and delivery standards.
 
Required Qualifications & Working Knowledge:

• Matric
• Tertiary or technical qualification will be advantageous
• Mechanical, electrical or Millwright trade will be advantageous
• 2 – 4 years’ experience in an FMCG manufacturing environment
• Actively support planned maintenance window process
• Previous and proven experience in leadership roles
• Proven ability to work effectively in high-volume production and shift-based environments
• Proven ability to meet production targets, quality standards, and deadlines
• Proficient in Microsoft 365, Syspro, Acumatica, SAP or similar ERP systems

POSITION INFO:
Duties & Responsibilities:

• Oversee material and product inventory, as well as waste streams during shifts, ensuring accurate tracking of usage and loss
• Support and drive the SHE (Safety, Health and Environment) pillar implementation
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
• Lead and supervise the packaging team during daily shift operations
• Manage shift teams to achieve production plans within cost and efficiency targets
• Perform routine shift and employee administration
• Coach and develop team members, engaging Pillar Champions and subject-matter experts to drive Manufacturing Excellence (ME) initiatives within the sift
