Payroll Manager

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree and/or Bachelor of Technology (BTech) degree and/or National Diploma (NDip) specialising in Accounting
• Minimum 5 years’ previous working experience within a similar Payroll position at a senior and/or managerial level is required
• Extensive knowledge and/or working experience involving Accounting, Tax, Labour, and Payroll systems, processes, and procedures is required
• Advanced SAGE Experience software skills are required

Job description & Skills:

• Ensuring the improvement and streamlining of existing systems, processes, and procedures of the Payroll function by providing business advice and recommending strategic interventions regarding ''best practices'' within the industry
• Providing insights to facilitate an ongoing awareness, development and implementation of ‘best practices’ relating to the roles and responsibilities of the Payroll function through ongoing market-related research
• Providing regular reviews and/or reports on the relevant payroll data to ensure that data integrity is maintained
• Ensuring that the Payroll function maintains compliance with contemporary and/or relevant Accounting, Tax, and Labour regulations
• Overseeing the performance and/or management of subordinates, namely the Payroll Assistant, and facilitating any required staff training and development

• Performing ad hoc payroll roles and responsibilities required by management including those required for the ongoing support of the Finance department
