SUMMARY:
People Change Manager

POSITION INFO:

Our client a Global Tech firm is seeking a People Change Manager to join their team in Cape town or remotely on a Contract basis for 9 months. Our client offers great benefits, stability, growth and an attractive salary. The candidate can be based in Cape town or work remotely however the candidate will be required to attend site meetings when required

Purpose

To support Data Privacy programme through the application of change enablement; ensuring change enablement objectives are achieved by increasing employee adoption through the creation and implementation of change management plans and activities which maximize employee adoption and minimize resistance

  • Operates within the following legislative requirements:
    • Labour Relations Act
    • Basic Conditions of Employment Act
    • Employment Equity Act
    • Protection of Personal Information Act

Internal environment

  • Operates within all policies related to transformation and people change enablement
  • Liaises across divisions of the bank; specifically, the following;
    • Retail & Business Banking Business Delivery Project Offices
    • Marketing
    • Learning and Development
    • HR
    • Works with departments according to specific, designated projects

Key Performance Areas

  • Perform activities to support the change efforts of enterprise wide initiative, specifically the Data Privacy programme
  • Projects within Data Privacy programme specific people change enablement support
  • Reporting

Key Tasks & Accountabilities

  • Lead people change enablement on designated projects
  • Build, develop and maintain own knowledge of business areas, including Branches, to enable;
    • Broad focus and impact across multiple projects i.e. listed above
    • Understanding of operational constraints in respect of people change enablement
    • Allow for impact at various touch points across the organisation
    • Identify impacted change areas and create project people change management plans
    • Propose a change strategy and identify engagements and interventions to effect the strategy
    • Propose and guide the development of training interventions, including the development of training material
    • Ensure execution of project people change management plans
    • Create and manage implementation of communications plans
    • Identify resistance and barriers to change and incorporate remedies in people change management plans
    • Ensure people change skills transference happens within each project
    • Execute post project analysis, and actively elicit feedback, to use findings to identify improvement, process, capability and value-add opportunities
    • Lead people change management within the Project Office and the broader environment

Project Office

  • Proactively maintain a focus on the people change within the PO
  • Build the value proposition of people change management function and drive it forwards
  • Be aware of general people related change and the impact thereof within the PO
  • Recommend actions to address impacts or escalate where appropriate
  • Monitor change relating to the Agile Enterprise transformation impact on Project and Programme Managers

Broader environment

  • Monitor and record people change taking place within the organisation
  • Analyse the effectiveness of the way in which People Change Management is being implemented and received within the organisation.
  • Identify gaps and make recommendations on remedial action

Reporting

  • Report on change taking place within the organisation to management and Executives
  • Provide information and reports for PO meetings
  • Provide ad hoc people change reporting as required by business

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Qualifications

  • Minimum: National Diploma or other accredited certificate/diploma in Change Management, Organisational Change, Business Process Re-engineering and Organisational Transformation
  • Ideal: Agile Ways of Working & Agile Project Management

Knowledge

Minimum:

  • Understand the philosophy and theory of change management / transformation
  • Understand how the theory translates into tools and methodologies and actions
  • Principles and practices of change / transformation in a business environment
  • How to use change tools and methodologies to effect change
  • Fundamentals of project management

Ideal:

  • Principles of Agile
  • Principles of work management (Autonomy, mastery and purpose)
  • Principles of employee engagement
  • Knowledge of the Protection of Personal Information Act or other similar Data Protection legislation

Skills

  • Communication skills (excellent verbal and written) in English
  • Computer Literacy (MS Word, MS Excel,
