Job SummaryThe Pipe Fitter Technician is responsible for the installation, assembly, maintenance, testing, and repair of piping systems, focusing on HDPE pipe welding and related activities. The role involves working from specifications, preparing and joining pipes using approved methods while ensuring work quality and safety standards are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret technical drawings, weld procedures, and project specifications.
- Measure, cut, align, assemble, and install piping systems as per project requirements.
- Perform HDPE pipe welding/fusion, following approved procedures and specifications.
- Prepare pipe surfaces and equipment for welding and joining tasks.
- Inspect welds and joints for alignment, quality, and compliance.
- Carry out pressure testing, flushing, and commissioning on systems.
- Maintain, repair, and replace damaged pipe sections and components.
- Use tools and welding equipment safely and efficiently.
- Complete necessary documentation and records.
- Collaborate with supervisors and trades to meet project goals.
- Adhere to health, safety, and environmental procedures.
