Plant Infrastructure Support Lead, Manufacturing industry, Ladysmith, Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa.

POSITION INFO:

Our client, a renowned Manufacturer in the Automotive industry is seeking to URGENTLY appoint a dynamic Plant Infrastructure Support Lead to join their multifunctional team based at their Ladysmith Operation.

MAIN PURPOSE FOR THE ROLE:

• To serve as Plant IT Engineer/Technicians team leader.
• To ensure IT Governance, Strategic planning of digital systems landscape, Systems Uptime, Disaster recovery.
• To deliver IT Project Capex Budget planning and management.
• To ensure the effectiveness of Management, reporting, and steering committee deliverables.
• To effect Customer support excellence.

KEY COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS:

• At minimum a bachelor’s degree in IT
• Certifications / Training / Licences / Registrations are essential.

• Preferred: ITILL, Windows OS (All) server, Cisco, Veeam.
• At least 5-years’ IT team lead experience
• Ability to drive IT Project management deliverables.
• Server Engineer, Network Engineer - design, configuration, and management
• Server and Network monitoring software
• Cyber Security
• Organizational Information systems
• Desktop Support.
• IT Support in a manufacturing environment
• CCTV, Access Control, LIMS, PABX
• SQL, SCADA, Historians, MES, ERP.

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Leadership:

• Performance management of subordinates
• Individual people’s development
• Presentation skills, Plant Operational & Architectural Committees, Global IT systems Alignment.
• Coaching and training operational staff on plant systems knowledge gaps.
• Identifying new technologies and compiling business cases for adoption.
• Safety (OHS) Audit responsibilities.

Reporting and Systems administration:

• Systems availability, performance, and capacity management
• Disaster recovery strategies, fail over testing, SOP’s, policies, IP Lists etc, Change management.
• IT Support excellence & tacking.
• Business systems integration and automation
• System upgrades
• Plant Shutdown activities.

IT Functional systems:

• WAN, LAN, WiFi, IT &OT networks, firewalls, NAT, NAS, Tape backups
• Servers, Server Rooms, UPS
• Cyber Security, antivirus
• SQL Database administration
• AD, SCCM, CCTV, Access Control, PABX, LIMS, Warehouse & weighbridge systems
• Office systems: Printers, PC’s, Laptops, renewals, replacements, Software Licencing, desktop support, Help desk.
• Asset management.
