Plant Manager

SUMMARY:
A large Abattoir in Zambia has an opportunity for a seasoned Maintenance Manager with experience in refrigeration, maintenance and a good understanding of production in an abattoir environment.

POSITION INFO:
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering, with a focus on refrigeration systems, along with comprehensive knowledge of poultry processing operations. The role involves leading engineering initiatives, managing projects, optimizing processes, and overseeing preventative maintenance programs to ensure the efficiency, safety, and quality of our operations.

Requirements:

• Candidates should hold a trade (Min. qualification) and have experience working on refrigeration plants (This is non-negotiable).
• At least 5 years' experience in a similar role as a Maintenance Manager.
• Lead engineering projects from conception to completion, including budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and resource allocation.
• Develop and implement comprehensive preventative maintenance programs for all critical equipment and systems, ensuring maximum uptime and reliability.
• Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Respond promptly to equipment failures and maintenance issues, implementing corrective actions to minimize downtime and ensure continuous operation.
