Plant Manager

Our client, a leader in the manufacturing industry seeks an experienced Plant Manager to assume responsibility for Materials, Production and Maintenance activities.

For the position you would be required to have:  

• BSc/BTech Mechanical Engineering degree essential
• 4 years plus Manufacturing/Maintenance/Production Management experience essential
• Ideally, experience gained within a small to medium-size enterprise
• Ideally, 2 years of manufacturing experience gained internationally
• Packaging or FMCG industry experience would be preferable
• Experience in Extrusion, Printing, Lamination, Conversion or slitting would be ideal.
• A proven track record of managing a team of Artisans and/or Engineers

Key Result Areas:

• Responsible for the Operational performance in the production facilities
• Manage Production and Maintenance teams
• Managing Production KPI’s within parameters (waste, over time, people resources, etc.)
• Partnering effectively with the SHEQ team to ensure zero customer complaints and returns
• Identifying and Managing trends and ensuring proper root cause to prevent repeat issues
• Optimization of Up/Production time and efficiencies
• Ensure all production targets are met
• Production and capacity planning
• Ensure availability of plant
• Preventative and scheduled maintenance plans
• Manage engineering related projects
• OPEX and CAPEX
• Oversee and manage all new products and technical projects from initiation to customer acceptance
• Ensure raw materials are available for production and that finished products are stored safely and securely
• Maintain good housekeeping practices
