Plant Manager - Potchefstroom (North West) - EE/AA Candidates

My client, a leading and well known company based just outside of Potchefstroom in North West requires a competent and experienced plant manager in their Artillery Division, Operations.

This position reports to the Head of Site.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

Responsible for all manufacturing and operational activities in the Artillery & A/C bomb plants at Boskop. This includes resource scheduling and optimization in order to supply product safely, on time, at the contracted quality standard.

POST REQUIREMENTS:

NQF 7 or B-Tech qualification in Industrial Engineering/Mechanical Engineering/Chemical Engineering.

At least 6 to 8 years’ experience of leading a team at Middle Management level in a manufacturing environment.

Fully computer literate and has excellent communication and presentation skills.

Experience with ERP / MES systems. ESSENTIAL

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

Responsible for all daily activities and operations in the respective plants.

In conjunction with the production planning section, prepare and manage production schedules to achieve the sales plan. This includes all resources, material, components, facilities, labor and equipment.

Manage, monitor and report production against the Master Production Schedule and participate in risk mitigating actions.

Set and manage the operational overheads and labor budget / forecast.

Control and monitor direct cost of manufacturing.

Resolve plant downtime through risk evaluation and task prioritization with the engineering section.

Ensure adheres and Implements the company''''s Policies and Procedures and ensures compliance to ISO Standards with respect to SHE/Quality/Environmental

Maintain discipline and comply with company policies, practices and procedures.

Support company vision and value system and ensure calibration throughout the team.
