Practicing Attorney

SUMMARY:
 Are you a qualified Practicing Attorney with a minimum of five years post-articles experience?
 
Our client, a well-established law firm in Cape Town CBD, is seeking an ideal candidate with demonstrable experience in Labour Litigation, Family Law, Collections, Civil Litigation, and preferably Commercial Law.

POSITION INFO:

• LLB degree
• Proof of admission to courts
• Minimum 5 years post article experience
• GhostPractice, LegalSuite and/or other legal software experience
• MS Office – Excel, Word and Outlook
• Strong communication and time management skills
• Understanding of South African corporate law and regulatory environment

• Represent clients in legal matters including civil, criminal, family, labour, and commercial law
• Draft, file, and argue cases in court
• Provide sound legal advice tailored to the client's situation
• Explain legal rights, responsibilities, and options in understandable terms
• Advise on contracts, disputes, regulatory compliance, and more
• Draft and review contracts, wills, affidavits, pleadings, and legal opinions
• Ensure documents are legally sound, enforceable, and meet client objectives
• Negotiate on behalf of clients in disputes and settlements
• Keep accurate financial records
• Stay updated on changes in legislation, case law, and legal practice
• Maintain clear, regular communication with clients
• Inform clients of progress and significant developments in their cases
• Maintain proper administrative systems and record-keeping
