SUMMARY:
Pre-Sales Engineer 
Location: Cape Town, Western Cape 
Our client is looking for a Pre-Sales Engineer who will be responsible for providing technical expertise and solution design across their networking, surveillance, wireless and smart technology product portfolio.  Working closely with the Sales team, distributors, resellers, installers, WISPs, SIs (System Integrators) and end-users, the successful candidate will design solutions, provide technical consultation, deliver product training and support customers throughout the sales and implementation lifecycle. The role also provides internal technical support and assists with maintaining the company's IT infrastructure.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities Technical Sales Support Partner with the Sales team to provide technical consultation during customer engagements. Assist with customer meetings, presentations, demonstrations and technical discussions. Validate customer requirements and recommend appropriate client solutions. Prepare technical proposals, bills of materials (BOMs) and solution recommendations. Support channel partners throughout the sales cycle. Solution Design & Engineering Design wired and wireless network infrastructure solutions. Design CCTV and surveillance system layouts using company's VIGI solutions. Recommend switching, routing, wireless, fibre and surveillance solutions based on customer requirements. Produce logical network diagrams and solution documentation. Ensure proposed solutions are technically sound, scalable and commercially viable. Customer Technical Support Provide Level 2 technical support to distributors, resellers, installers and end-users. Troubleshoot networking and surveillance-related issues remotely and on-site. Assist customers during product deployment and implementation. Investigate technical faults and recommend corrective actions. Escalate complex issues where required. Training & Technical Enablement Deliver technical training sessions to distributors, resellers, installers and customers. Conduct product demonstrations and technical workshops. Develop technical knowledge within the sales team. Promote best practices for installation, configuration and troubleshooting. Stay up to date with new company technologies and product releases. Internal Technical Support Provide technical support to internal staff. Configure new laptops, desktops and user environments. Maintain internal networking infrastructure. Support company servers, switches, wireless infrastructure and user connectivity. Assist with software installation and user support. Product & Technical Knowledge Maintain expert knowledge across company's product ranges including: - Business Networking - Omada SDN - VIGI Surveillance - Aginet ISP Solutions - Tapo Smart Home - Mercusys Networking - Enterprise Switching - Wireless Networking - Routing - Fibre Networking - CCTV Systems - Network Security Fundamentals Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with Sales, Technical Support, Product Management and Marketing teams. Provide technical feedback to Product Managers. Assist with proof-of-concept installations and demonstrations. Support exhibitions, customer events and technical roadshows. Minimum Requirements Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Networking, Electronic Engineering or a related technical field. Minimum 3 years' experience in a Pre-Sales, Network Engineer or Technical Support role. Strong networking knowledge including: o TCP\/IP o VLANs o Routing o Switching o Wireless Networking o Fibre Networking Experience designing network infrastructure solutions. Experience configuring enterprise networking equipment. Strong troubleshooting skills. Excellent presentation and communication skills. Valid driver's licence. Willingness to travel throughout the Western Cape when required.
