POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop robust application scorecards using advanced methodologies like reject inference.
- Lead feature engineering projects to enhance accuracy, interpretability, and commercial value.
- Collaborate with business and executive stakeholders to align scoring models with strategic priorities.
- Drive the innovation of predictive models in low-data environments, especially for SME lending.
- Mentor and inspire junior data professionals to achieve technical excellence.
- Lead multiple projects with efficiency and precision, ensuring quality and business impact.

Job Experience and Skills Required:
- BSc/BCom in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Data Science, or Engineering.
- 8+ years’ hands-on experience in application scoring, credit risk, or predictive analytics.
- Proven success in developing, validating, and deploying application scorecards.
- Strong technical command of SAS (required); Paragon Modeler experience a plus.
- Demonstrated expertise in feature engineering and model optimisation.
- Confident communicator with a knack for translating technical insights into business action.
- Leadership experience in guiding teams and influencing senior stakeholders.

Preferred Attributes:
- Experience in SME lending, fintech, or alternative credit scoring.
- Understanding of behavioural modelling and PD model design.
- Exposure to machine learning techniques in scoring.
- Comfortable in agile, collaborative, and innovation-driven teams.
