Job Opportunity: Principal Analyst (Contract Position)

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Principal Analyst to join our client's team on a contract basis for a major petrochemical client in Sasolburg.

To perform routine laboratory analyses using established procedures to determine product properties and characteristics. Testing is conducted using existing standards, customer-supplied methods, and laboratory-developed test methods in line with the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025, while maintaining a strong focus on laboratory safety.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities:

Perform routine laboratory tests and analyses on samples in accordance with established procedures and standards.
Prepare samples, reagents, and laboratory equipment for analysis.
Record and report test results accurately in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and/or laboratory logbooks.
Operate, clean, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment.
Ensure compliance with laboratory quality standards, procedures, and ISO/IEC 17025 requirements.
Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations within the laboratory.
Maintain cleanliness and proper organisation of the laboratory work area.
Assist with sample collection, labelling, and storage where required.
Report abnormal results, equipment malfunctions, or safety concerns to supervisors promptly.

Qualifications:

Grade 12 with Mathematics or N3 Technical Mathematics.
Physical Science is advantageous.
A National Diploma in Chemistry or related field will be an added advantage.
