Principal / System Engineer: Hardware (Domain Lead)

SUMMARY:
Are you an experienced hardware engineer with a passion for innovation and leadership? A rare opportunity exists for a Principal / System Engineer – Hardware (Domain Lead) to join a forward-thinking engineering team focused on designing and delivering safety-critical, mission-critical systems, including flight control units, embedded computer platforms, and other advanced hardware.

POSITION INFO:

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development of system-level plans, standards, and processes aligned with aerospace and safety requirements.
• Translate client needs into structured, traceable system and subsystem-level requirements.
• Design and analyse system architectures, ensuring performance, reliability, and compliance.
• Develop system-level verification plans, test cases, and tools to support automation and continuous integration.
• Manage system integration, testing, and validation—often requiring on-site support, including ground and flight testing.
• Oversee documentation including interface specs, user and maintenance manuals, and training materials.
• Engage with clients to present complex technical concepts clearly and support ongoing relationships.
• Guide internal and client-facing projects to meet quality, budget, and delivery expectations.
• Provide training and technical support to ensure successful client adoption and operation of systems.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electronic or Mechatronic Engineering (BSc Eng/BEng)
• 8–15 years of relevant industry experience

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong foundation in electronic design and simulation (analog and digital), PCB design, and manufacturing using Altium.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills—both technical and client-facing.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex engineering projects and coordinate across multiple teams.
• Analytical and problem-solving mindset with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to travel for ground and flight testing.

Recommended Skills & Experience

• High-speed routing and interface expertise: PCIe, SATA, Gigabit Ethernet.
• Familiarity with RTCA DO-254 hardware design assurance standards.
• Master’s Degree in Electronic or Mechatronic Engineering (MSc Eng / MEng) is an advantage.
