JOB SUMMARY:
My client, a leading insurance organisation is looking for a Privacy Information Officer with an in-depth understanding of POPIA, PAIA, GDPR and other relevant international data privacy laws to join their team.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The successful candidate will be responsible for Information privacy and Compliance to POPIA and PAIA by directing the development, implementation, co-ordination and oversight of privacy policies and procedures.

Duties:

Strategic direction, governance and oversight
Develop and review privacy policies
Draft and maintain PAIA manual
Facilitate data subject requests
Maintain an effective data privacy incident and breach program
Understand systems, cyber security and processes to ensure data is adequately protected
Report drafting
Stakeholder engagement
Apply and interpret information privacy legislation, standards and best practices.

Qualifications:

BSc/BCom IT or Systems degree
Postgraduate qualification – advantageous

Experience:

5 - 8 years Audit experience in Data Privacy, IT, Compliance, Data Risk Management, Audit or Risk Management
Minimum of 3 years managerial experience
