Process Engineer (Black belt) - Agricultural Industry

SUMMARY:

My client is seeking a Seed Process Engineer to provide ongoing support to Field and Plant operations through identification and evaluation of process improvements, leverage areas and ideas, troubleshoot support for process issues, and identification of future projects. Leading seed processing improvements and process optimization to reduce waste, improve quality, safety and reduce operating costs.

POSITION INFO:

Conduct Lean & Six Sigma projects and provide leadership, prioritization and direction, acting as champion for other engineers and team members. Act as a SME (Subject Matter Expert) in lean practices and facilitate the continuous improvement journey for Field and Plant operations.

Qualifications and experience:

• Bachelors'' degree in Industrial engineering, Chemical, Mechanical or Manufacturing engineering.
• At least 5 years of experience in manufacturing and or seed agricultural industry
• Six Sigma Black Belt certification
• Experience in FMEA, Kaizen/A3 process improvement and Poka Yoke techniques
• Experience in leading and developing teams
• Skilled at leading, managing conflict and negotiating with cross-functional teams
• Demonstration of courage, candor and initiative skills
• Coaching / mentoring group facilitation skills
• Strong communication skills (written and oral – open, honest and persistent)
• Deliver results in a changing environment

 Key responsibilities:

• Understanding of system implementation methodology, lean content and change management approach to successfully sustain implementation of performance improvements.
• Review continuous improvement opportunities with Implementation Task Force (ITF) and Site Steering Committee (SSC) to be implemented to focus on full benefit of employees and business
• Lead focus improvement (FI), as a best practices leader with 5WHY investigations and A3 problem solving.
• Implement and analyses OEE (Over all equipment efficiency) measurements, monitoring and implement improvements.
• Develop and review process key performance indicators that provide a clear tracking system on manufacturing performance and drive actions to improve OEE (Overall equipment efficiency). Provide oversight of processes related to product quality in cooperation with seed production management and other stakeholders including but not limited to the company Global Quality & Compliance Assurance.
• Lead Quality and Safety initiatives broadly and build a culture to maintain a healthy and safety Quality Management System (QMS)
• Develop improvement work studies and identify quality and performance opportunities, cost reduction and analyze the main variables of the process, proposing actions to the production team in the case of deviation / changes that may cause problems of loss of production / quality / safety / environment.
• Promote discussion among plant representatives on good practices, performance results and new technologies for the production processes. Promote operational training and coaching.
• Responsible for updating of technical documentation and monitoring changes in the process through the Change Management System (MOC).
• Responsible for the roll out of the innovation and optimization projects as MR in the plant being responsible for the preparation of document assumptions, technical support and KPI`s monitoring.
