Process Manager - Storage

SUMMARY:
Our client based in the East Rand is looking for an Experienced PROCESS MANAGER with experience in STORAGE : MUST have a degree in Logistics/Warehousing Management/Supply Chain/Operations Management

POSITION INFO:

The following criteria must be met:

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE and KNOWLEDGE:  

• Grade 12
• Strong IT Experience and knowledge
• Degree in Logistics/Warehousing Management/Supply Chain/Operations Management
• Good understanding of excel. Must have the ability manipulate the excel spread sheets to present stats in the desired format. 
• Must have own vehicle with a valid driver’s licence.
• Management
• Postgraduate qualification is business administration will also be advantageous
• 5 years’ experience in a production/operations environment.
• Resource management, control and utilisation
• Knowledge of OHS Act is highly advantageous
• Demonstrate an entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to operate independently and remotely
• Must have experience with implementing health and safety guidelines
• Must have solid experience in managing performance of teams and handling labour relations matters
• Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must have a flair for operations, hardworking and pay attention to detail
• Must be a team player
• Must have business acumen and be able to communicate with senior to top management
• Must be prepared to travel to sites – project / packing related.
• Must be highly computer literate
• Demonstrate excellent organisational skills
• Process Management
• Ensures effective planning of work and resources to achieve optimal throughput.
• Coordinates work teams to meet daily production targets according to work planning schedule:
  • pack and upliftment team
  • packing
  • data capture
• Ensures that receiving and despatch meets operational requirements.
• Reports to the Operations Manager on production performance on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
• Ensures that all processing equipment is maintained in optimal condition.
• Manages and ensures adherence to the OHS Act and good housekeeping of the Processing Centre at all times.
• Coach and mentor one Learner per year.
• Personally performs independent performance checks on staff members and takes corrective actions as required.
• Ensure the full track and trace is maintained of boxes/files/batches throughout the processing cycle and within the related SLA.
• Enforces adherence to company policies and procedures and carries out disciplinary steps as required for non-conformance/non-adherence.
• Manage lateness and sickness.
• Maintains an ongoing review of per client per job benchmarks
• Inspects work in progress throughout the day that the teams are on target which will require a hands on approach.
• Personally performs independent quality checks of work quality of staff members and takes corrective actions as required.
• People Management
• Ensures that staff is trained, skilled and that their expertise is optimally applied.
• Ensures that the working environment contributes to improve staff morale and increase productivity.
• COST MANAGEMENT
• Ensure that Storage Processing costs are effectively managed.
• Performs planning not only in line with production targets but also ensures that cost target based on original costing + time and motion studies are maintained.
• SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Has overall responsibility for a staff complement of 6-60.
