Our client, a leading engineering and process solutions organisation serving the mining and minerals processing industry , is seeking an experienced Process \/ Chemical Engineer with specialised expertise in gold extraction and hydrometallurgical processing . The successful candidate will be involved in the development, optimisation and implementation of process solutions across gold recovery operations, working closely with multidisciplinary engineering, metallurgical and project teams. This opportunity is ideally suited to an engineer who combines strong chemical\/process engineering fundamentals with practical experience in gold processing, hydrometallurgy and mineral recovery . Key Responsibilities Develop, evaluate and optimise gold extraction and recovery processes . Perform process design, calculations, simulations and technical evaluations. Develop and review process flow diagrams (PFDs), P&IDs, mass balances and heat balances . Evaluate gold recovery circuits and identify opportunities for improved recovery, throughput and operating efficiency. Work with metallurgists, process engineers and other disciplines to develop integrated process solutions. Provide technical input into conceptual, feasibility, basic and detailed engineering studies . Participate in process development, pilot plant and test-work programmes. Analyse metallurgical test-work data and translate results into practical process solutions. Support the selection and sizing of process equipment. Develop equipment specifications and technical documentation. Investigate process bottlenecks and recommend optimisation initiatives. Provide technical support during commissioning, plant start-up and troubleshooting . Assist with plant performance assessments and process audits. Prepare technical reports, calculations and engineering documentation. Liaise with clients, suppliers and project teams on technical matters. Contribute to project cost estimates, schedules and technical proposals where required. Ensure designs comply with applicable engineering, safety, environmental and quality requirements. Provide technical support to operational mining and mineral processing facilities. Gold Extraction Experience Experience in one or more of the following areas will be highly advantageous: Gold leaching and recovery Cyanide leaching Carbon-in-pulp ( CIP ) and carbon-in-leach ( CIL ) Resin-in-pulp ( RIP ) \/ resin-based recovery Gravity gold recovery Flotation Elution and goldroom processes Carbon regeneration Thickening, clarification and filtration Detoxification and cyanide destruction Precious metal recovery Hydrometallurgical process development Reagent selection and optimisation Metallurgical test-work and process modelling Minimum Requirements BEng\/BSc\/BTech degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering or a closely related discipline. 5+ years' relevant engineering experience , preferably within mining, minerals processing or metallurgical environments. Proven exposure to gold extraction or precious metals processing . Strong understanding of chemical and metallurgical process principles. Experience with process design and engineering documentation. Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Ability to interpret metallurgical test-work and process performance data. Experience working within multidisciplinary engineering project teams. Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and relevant engineering\/process software. Willingness to travel to mining and processing sites when required. Please send your cv to
