An exciting opportunity at a well established industrial company in Durban, KZN. The ideal candidate MUST have procurement experience (management) and a chemical background.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Procurement Manager
Our client who produces industrial products is looking for a Procurement Manager who will plans, organize, direct and controls the company’s purchasing activities; establish policies and procedures for the buying of various goods and services. Performs related duties as required.

Responsibilities:

Plan, develop and implement systems/strategy for purchasing management and development to meet agreed organizational performance plans within agreed budgets and timescales.
Ensure that the Procurement Team is resourced to achieve organizational goals. Implement maintenance systems and strategy to ensure that these resources keep up to world class norms.
Establish and maintain appropriate systems for measuring necessary aspects of Procurement management and development.
Monitor, measure and report on logistical issues, opportunities, and development plans.
Manage and develop direct reporting staff.
Ensure training needs are addressed.
Provide leadership, mentorship, and motivational support to teams.
Set, manage and control departmental budgets within agreed parameters.
Liaise with other managers to understand all necessary aspects and needs of purchasing development, and to ensure they are fully informed of production objectives, purposes and achievements.
Ensure activities meet with and integrate all organizational requirements for quality management, health and safety, legal stipulations, environmental policies, and general duty of care.
Ensure that all branch purchasing requirements are met.
