Procurement Officer

SUMMARY:
A leading pharmaceutical manufacturer based in Ballito is seeking a Procurement Officer to oversee the sourcing, negotiation, and purchasing of raw materials, active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), and excipients.

POSITION INFO:
The role ensures timely delivery, cost-efficiency, and supplier compliance with regulatory and quality standards to meet production requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Inventory Management:

• Monitor inventory on SAP.
• MRP processing raw materials.

• Place purchase orders timeously.
• Follow up on purchase order dates.
• Communicate collection requirements with Logistics.

• Monitor and negotiate pricing.
• Supplier monitoring and performance/evaluations.
• Forecasting on customer demand.
• Maintain and update approved raw materials lists.
• Evaluate suppliers on pricing, service and quality.

• Diploma or Degree in the relevant field
• Minimum of 8–10 years of proven work experience
• Proficient in SAP, Microsoft Word, and Excel
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Ability to perform well under pressure
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Analytical thinker with problem-solving skills related to purchasing and inventory
• Proactive, self-motivated, and adaptable
• Highly organized with excellent time management abilities
