Our client, a dynamic and established organization in the events management sector, is seeking a meticulous and results-driven Procurement Officer to join their team. This pivotal role is responsible for overseeing the full procurement and contract management lifecycle, ensuring the organization secures the highest quality goods and services at the best possible value.
Main Purpose of the Job
To effectively manage all procurement and contract management activities for the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the end-to-end enquiry and tender process, including preparing Requests for Quotations (RFQs), sourcing suitable suppliers, and evaluating quotes.
- Develop and maintain robust procurement and contract management strategies, policies, procedures, and practices.
- Manage supplier performance and relationships to ensure consistent quality and adherence to contract terms.
- Proactively identify potential supply risks and develop effective mitigating strategies to ensure the uninterrupted supply of goods and services.
- Manage the execution of contracts, monitor performance, and process renewals or extensions.
- Ensure all procurement expenditure remains within approved budgetary limits.
- Conduct thorough assessments of supplier capability prior to awarding any contracts.
Required Minimum Qualifications & Experience
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience in a procurement or supply chain management role at an officer level.
- Grade 12 certificate or equivalent, plus a 3-year tertiary qualification in Supply Chain Management (SCM), Logistics, Financial Management, or Administration.
- Proven knowledge of public or private sector procurement and tendering/bid processes.
