Our client is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Procurement and Costing Clerk to join their team.

POSITION INFO:

Responsibilities

• Analyse packaging requirements, volumes, and supplier pricing to identify and implement cost reduction and process improvements
• Execute daily packaging procurement, manage supplier relationships for competitive pricing and quality, and track cost of sales
• Collaborate with Marketing, Graphics Design, Sales, and Warehouse teams to ensure packaging designs are cost-effective and order quantities align with sales forecasts
• Provide support to internal teams on packaging needs and cover the Procurement Manager's duties during leave
• Rapidly learn the costing methods of lithographic and flexible printing processes

• Bachelor of Commerce qualification (BCom) and CIMA certification (Advantageous)
• Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar procurement or costing role, ideally within a manufacturing or FMCG environment
• Advanced Excel skills and strong general numerical skills
• Proficiency in reporting and data analysis
• Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams (e.g., Graphics Design, Production, Sales)
• Strong analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail
• Strong communication and relationship management skills
• A proactive approach to identifying cost optimisation opportunities
• Understanding of the packaging industry, including printing processes and material requirements (Advantageous)
