Product / Agency Manager - Industrial Raw Materials

SUMMARY:
A well-known Chemical Company requires the above to manage their Agencies within the Industrial Surfactant and related markets promoting their products to Senior Key Accounts on a national basis.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum requirements for the role:

• A tertiary qualification is preferred but not essential.
• Previous experience having worked within a Product Management role managing Principals ideally within the Surfactant, Detergent, and other Homecare and Personal Care and related manufacturing industries is preferred.
• Previous experience having worked within the industrial market segment as well as having introduced new principals and product ranges into the market is preferred.
• Previous experience having managed principals both overseas and locally is essential.
• The successful candidate should have strong commercial drive, analytical mindset and good interpersonal skills.
• The successful candidate must be computer literate and be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines and prioritise.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Managing and maintaining current sales volumes per product from various Principals / Agencies.
• Identifying new potential Customers with Account Managers strategically ensuring that business is gained for the purpose of volume growth per product.
• Presenting monthly reports to Senior Management.
• Managing Principals regarding setting budgets, negotiating pricing, sourcing or products, customer requests, etc.
• Strategically assisting with the setting of monthly price lists on various products for Customers.
• Attending Principal technical training overseas when required to do so.
• Visiting Customers with Account Managers on a national and local basis.
• Providing product training to Clients on products.
• Managing and implementing strategies to drive growth across all sectors alongside Account Managers.
• Managing product ranges and Principals internationally within the allocated industrial portfolio to achieve budget and profitable growth.
• Providing feedback information to overseas Principals on suitability of products within the South African markets.
• Communicating product trends with the National Sales Team and Accounts when necessary and be able to advise and advocate product strategies aligned with Principal Partners.
• Proposing and making recommendations for any applicable product solutions.

Salary package, including benefits, is highly negotiable depending on experience gained.
