Product Developer (Cosmetics)

SUMMARY:
A leading skin care and cosmetics manufacturer based in Centurion, is looking to employ a Product Developer.

POSITION INFO:
Qualification:

• BSc or Diploma in Chemistry
• Efficient in Microsoft Office

• 7 - 10 years in a lab environment.

• Development of new formulations, evaluating them for chemical and physical properties and performance
• Improve new products and services: revamp existing product''s old features or add new features so the product sells better or adds greater value to consumers.
• Conceptualize new products
• Oversee entire process of designing, creating, and marketing new products or existing products with new features of the product lifecycle
• Establish product specifications and procedures as required for R & D projects
• Support scale-ups from prototype to commercial manufacture particularly to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
• Engage with Marketing / Sales / Supply Chain
• Discover and commercialise new technologies for new and existing products
• Provide technical and supervisory support within laboratory and other departments as required
• Coordinate research and development activities within all organizational departments
• Develop reports and documents detailing project processes, results and conclusions
• Attend product training and supplier meetings

• Management/Implementation of Global Sourcing Programme
• To gain or maintain a competitive product edge ensuring superior products
• Cost improvement of current product tests the viability of a potential product
• Protect intellectual property
• Conduct research and testing on new raw materials from alternative or new suppliers
• Improve current formulations of products when needed
