Freedom Won has opportunity for an experienced Product Development Engineer who is responsible for overseeing the research and design team, conceptualizing and designing new products, testing product designs, and drafting the specifications for the manufacturing of new products. This position requires a strong engineering background in electronics and wireless protocols. The candidate will help define future applications in hardware and software along with acting as a program manager for advanced product development projects. The candidate must demonstrate creativity, versatility, personal accountability, contributor aptitude, and drive to foster continuous improvement. The candidate will play a key role in allowing the company to meet stated product development objectives while continuously learning how to be more responsive to rapidly changing business conditions through the ongoing application of principles and practices of multiple agile frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design new products.
• Assist with proof-of-concept testing before the prototype stage.
• Analyze prototypes and finished products for functionality.
• Review existing designs, supporting the enhancement or revision of products.
• Create technical drawings using CAD software and outline product specifications.
• Verify the accuracy of tooling design and work instructions.
• Document the entire development and design process.
• Design new products.
• Assist with proof-of-concept testing before the prototype stage.
• Delivering product specifications and procedures to the manufacturing team for production purposes.
• Analyzing existing products to identify areas for improvement.
• Working prototypes with estimated costs for bills of material.
• Facilitate customer and internal design reviews.
• Identify and develop/document testing procedures for design validation and product prove out.
• Customer and internal engineering sign-off of design and performance documentation.
• On-site and customer/supplier support for PPAP, prototype, and production launches.
• Oversee procurement of parts, cost, and funding of prototypes, etc., to support design development.
• Oversee and assist component and process suppliers as required.
• Material and process selection during product design.
• Tooling, fixture, and process design for production.
• PCBA design and layout.
• Present required milestone reviews to management.
• Communicate project timelines to internal and external stakeholders.
• Manage multi-discipline teams to meet project stakeholder deliverables.
• Have fun and maintain a positive attitude.

Minimum Requirements:

• BSC in electrical or mechanical engineering or a related field.
• Master's degree a plus.
• Experience with 3D design.
• Prior experience in product development from an engineering or manufacturing standpoint.
• Excellent analytical skills and the ability to solve complex design issues.
• Working prototypes with estimated costs for bills of material.
• Facilitate customer and internal design reviews.
• Identify and develop/document testing procedures for design validation and product prove out.
