Product Manager

SUMMARY:
Our client based in Elandsfontein is looking for a Product Manager

POSITION INFO:

Requirements

• A relevant Bachelors’ degree or above
• Marketing or sales experience will be an advantage
• 3-5 years’ relevant experience in the cable industry
• Management of a portfolio of brands in Engineering industry would be a strong advantage

Responsibilities

• Ensure high integrity and accuracy of forecasts
• Ensure mitigation plans are developed, as required
• Monthly product portfolio reviews with line manager
• Work with sales teams to optimize product sales forecasts
• Manage expense budgets; set up, monitor and track ROI of sales & marketing expenditure and programs
• Brand/Products/Channel management, strategy and tactical plan development
• Develop local strategies, promotional campaigns and programs to maximize product sales growth
• Align to company business strategies as appropriate
• Market Intelligence - Continuous collection, analysis and reporting of product market
• Provide accurate analysis of data for each brand and/or portfolio to support proposed strategy
• Ensure the brands/products are being managed according to life cycle requirements
• Take responsibility for product requirements in the various channels and deliver the correct content to fulfill the promotional requirements within those channels
• Identify plans and implement core materials in line with the tactical plan (supporting the channel strategies)
• Drive cross-functional brand leadership through the core brand team and utilise inputs from the core brand team to support the strategy and tactical development
• Take accountability for ensuring that all content and/or promotion materials and items for promotional purposes are delivered timeously
• Complete the demand planning with Central Platform & Internal Sales to ensure continued stock supply to markets and avoid stock obsolescence
• Review pricing and make recommendations for price adjustments; tender opportunities and price reduction, working closely with relevant teams
• Advance proposals for major strategy change to senior management
• Alignment across functions and stakeholder management
• Align key internal stakeholders, through the core product team – technical, corporate services, management, sales etc - to drive business objectives, develop strategies and tactics for the brand and/ or Product
• Lead the efforts to understand and address countries’ opportunities and challenges.
• Collaborate with sales to roll out and drive effective execution of campaigns and programs.
• Establish effective peer relationships and strong cross-functional collaboration and communication
• Establish and maintain positive relationships with identified opinion leaders (private and public sectors)
• Vendor management (in accordance with policy)
• Product portfolio revenue achievement
• Development of strategy, sales and tactical plans
• Delivery of materials and content for customer facing colleagues and channel activities
• Forecast and management of revenue and expenses
• Implementation of plans to ensure that sales teams are highly focused on accurate implementation of product strategy
