Production Cost Accountant

SUMMARY:
Exciting opportunity for an experienced Cost Accountant from the Manufacturing or FMCG industry

POSITION INFO:

Completed B Com/CIMA qualification with a minimum of 5 years similar experience in the Manufacturing/FMCG industry essential

Advanced Excel skills

Product Costing and Pricing updates:

• Review pricing from procurement, challenge and validate by comparisons

  and sense checks

• Sense check and validate Boms

• Update and maintain Fixed Cost rates

• Upload pricing into JDE

• Create Costing’s, execute, manage errors and validate

• Produce final Product cost estimates

• Manage daily costing requests

• Produce PCE’s for new and innovation packs

• Update Sales pricing in JDE, work closely with the Sales team on the

   updating of Sales pricing

Materials Management :

• Fully manage and lead the cost and control environment with regard to materials management

• Fully management declarations of Resin usage to 3rd party customers

• Provide weekly recons of receipts, consumption and wastage of Resin (Mass

   Balance / MUC reporting)

• Be the control lead and manage all stock counts ensuring all locations are

  fully counted each month

• Work closely with the Logistics and Materials management teams on

   variance analysis

• Management of returnable packaging, cages, pallets and scrap

• Work closely with the QC, Sales and Logistics teams on returns and credits

• Ensure all variances are signed of per Schedule of authority

• Ensure all negative stocks are cleared prior to month end close

• Ensure all processing is fully completed prior to month end including grns,

  manuals and all other document processing relating to materials

  management 

Reporting and Analysis:

• Prepare reporting packs giving site management visibility of: material

  usages, consumption and scrap usage

• Prepare reporting packs giving site management visibility of Stock Count

  and Price Variances

• Prepare analysis of Production activities in line with Standard and Activity

  based Costing methodology

• Support the team in the preparation of annual budgets, monthly forecasting and Management packs

• Prepare monthly schedules required for reporting to Head Office

Control & Governance :

• Ensure control environment is maintained and correct processes are followed

  as detailed per SOPs

• Ensure schedule of authority is maintain and signed of at correct authority

  levels

• Review SOPs and ensure process flow is in line with actual processes

• Be the first point of contact with regard to all material management

  processing queries

• Perform audits and maintain control of all Books used on site, including

  manuals and gate passes

• Lead the materials management and costing environment ensuring the

  highest standards are maintained at all times
