SUMMARY:
A leading steel service centre is looking for a highly experienced Production Manager to drive operational excellence at their KZN branch. This is a key leadership role responsible for managing production performance, improving efficiencies, and ensuring world-class manufacturing standards.

POSITION INFO:

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and manage production schedules to meet cost, quality, and delivery targets
Drive continuous improvement in production efficiency and output
Manage plant resources (labour, materials, equipment) in line with budget
Ensure high OEE (Overall Equipment Efficiency) and quality yield
Oversee daily production reporting and performance tracking
Implement and maintain quality control systems (including IATF standards)
Lead, motivate, and develop production teams
Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations (OHS Act)
Collaborate with maintenance to optimise machine performance

🎓 Minimum Requirements:

BSc Engineering (essential)
10+ years’ experience in Production Management (manufacturing environment)
Strong Industrial Relations experience
Proven people management capability

Lean Manufacturing / TPM / TQM knowledge
Strong leadership and decision-making ability
Process improvement and problem-solving skills
Budgeting, stock control, and operational planning experience
