SUMMARY:
Large company dealing withing the industrial gear manufacturing environment has an opportunity for a Production Supervisor with experience within this environment.
8 years’ production supervisory experience in heavy manufacturing is essential. 5 years’ gear cutting and grinding experience and knowledge is advantageous.
Responsible for managing assigned production area, employees and workflow to consistently meet or exceed production schedules, delivering the highest quality product, whilst ensuring the safety of all employees on shift.
N3 certificate in Mechanical Engineering and/or Fitter & Turner / Turner trade is essential
Production or related diploma/degree is advantageous

POSITION INFO:
Good understanding of Conventional and CNC Lathes, Slotting, Planer and Milling Machines.
Productivity/output - accountable for ensuring that production schedules are met on a daily/weekly/quarterly basis during shifts
Supervises direct labour / production employees
Monitor and prioritise workflow of production to meet deadlines
Report on key production output, measurement of work centre utilisation and productivity
Ensure booked versus paid hours are accounted for
Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives and root-cause production slowdowns
Ensure strict adherence to Quality Management Systems
Accountable for Health & Safety for all work areas and employees on duty
