Production Manager

Durban, KwaZulu-Natal

Our client, a leader in the chemical manufacturing sector, is looking for an experienced Production Manager to take full ownership of plant operations, drive performance, and lead a high-impact production team.

This is a strategic leadership role overseeing Production Plants (SMR & Hydrogen Peroxide) and Tank Farm operations, with a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

What You’ll Be Doing

Lead and manage daily plant operations to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant production
Drive performance across Safety, Health, Environment, and Production targets
Plan and coordinate production runs in line with sales and laboratory requirements
Oversee plant maintenance planning and shutdowns
Ensure product quality and availability for dispatch
Lead, mentor, and develop production teams
Manage compliance with OSHAct, ISO standards, and regulatory requirements
Act as a key stakeholder in capital projects, HAZOPs, and operational improvements
Produce and analyse weekly and monthly production reports
Troubleshoot plant issues to maintain optimal output

What You Bring

Relevant tertiary qualification (Engineering / Production / related)
Strong experience in chemical or industrial manufacturing
Proven leadership in managing plant operations and teams
Solid understanding of OSHAct, ISO, and compliance frameworks
Hands-on ability to solve operational challenges and drive efficiency
Strong communication and reporting skills
