Production Manager

SUMMARY:
Do you have an excellent track record with experience as Production Manager for a busy Food Production Company? Our Client is requiring your expertise and experience to join their large manufacturing concern based in Brackenfell.

POSITION INFO:

REQUIREMENTS

Matric, Diploma/Degree in Production Management/Engineering and or equivalent

3 - 5 years proven food industry experience

Computer Literate (Excel, Word and Outlook including ERP Systems)

FSSC 22000 and HACCP compliant

Knowledge and interpretation of health & safety

Drivers Licenses with own Transport

Excellent communication skills (Write, Read & understand in English/Afrikaans/Xhosa)

Ability to do calculations in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Knowledge and experience in programme - 6 sigma and 20 keys

Strong problem-solving skills, analytic ability and be very detail-oriented.

Being results and deadline-driven.

After hours factory visits as required.

Often required to walk a lot and work near moving mechanical parts

Often be working in highly dusty areas

DUTIES

Leading and motivating production staff

To oversee maintenance of all lines

Reaching production targets

Driving efficiencies

Developing production side of ERP System

Continuously working on improvement actions

Food safety and security

Analysing production data

Check mass balance reports

Training of staff

-       Food-related Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)

-       Factory-related environmental regulations

-       SQF certification – principles or SQF

-       Knowledge of GMP+ standards

Oversee that employees fulfil their required job activities and monitor their performance

Good people management skills and management of staff.

Being able to develop good working relationships and trust with various teams.

Working well with many different departments and external suppliers

Maintain workflow and ensure the smooth running of the production plant

Aid within the factory as and when required

Consult any changes in production based on production plan

Identifying problems and implement preventative strategies to minimise risk.
