SUMMARY:
Are you a production manager with extensive process management experience? We have an opportunity for you. One of our clients in the manufacturing space seeks to hire a production manager who will be responsible for ensuring that standard operating procedures are followed, health and safety standards are maintained and that the plant machines are running efficiently. POSITION INFO:

The Ideal Candidate

Must have at least 5 years’ experience in a production/process management role

Ability to read and understand manufacturing orders
Ability to use common machine measuring equipment
Excellent numeracy skills
Process management
Knowledge of quality systems and principles

Duties Include:

Ensure that the Team Leaders are running as per job card
Ensure that plant machines are running efficiently
Manage the team Leader on shift to ensure that production targets are met.
Ensure that health and safety standards are maintained.
Enforce discipline among your staff i.e. no extended lunch times, no idling during work.
Compiling a Preferred Supplier List per Category per Region which is updated annually
Responsible for production planning and staff management
Ensure that housekeeping standards are adhered to
Ensure that all health and safety issues, near misses, to be reported to the Production Foreman
Ensure the right product, at right quantity and quality is timeously delivered to our customers

Qualifications

Must have matric – non neg!

Tertiary Qualification in Plastics Manufacturing – similar is advantageous

Trade test - advantageous
