Production Manager

One of our clients in the manufacturing space seeks to hire a production manager who will be responsible for ensuring that standard operating procedures are followed, health and safety standards are maintained and that the plant machines are running efficiently. POSITION INFO:

The Ideal Candidate

• Must have at least 5 years’ experience in a production/process management role

• Ability to read and understand manufacturing orders
• Ability to use common machine measuring equipment
• Excellent numeracy skills
• Process management
• Knowledge of quality systems and principles

Duties Include:

• Ensure that the Team Leaders are running as per job card
• Ensure that plant machines are running efficiently
• Manage the team Leader on shift to ensure that production targets are met.
• Ensure that health and safety standards are maintained.
• Enforce discipline among your staff i.e. no extended lunch times, no idling during work.
• Compiling a Preferred Supplier List per Category per Region which is updated annually
• Responsible for production planning and staff management
• Ensure that housekeeping standards are adhered to
• Ensure that all health and safety issues, near misses, to be reported to the Production Foreman
• Ensure the right product, at right quantity and quality is timeously delivered to our customers

Qualifications

Must have matric – non neg!

Tertiary Qualification in Plastics Manufacturing – similar is advantageous

Trade test - advantageous
