SUMMARY:
A well-established Consulting Engineering firm based in Cape Town is seeking a Professional Architect to take on the role of Head of Department.
The successful candidate will lead and manage the Architectural Department within a firm that specializes in Building Services and Infrastructure Construction. This is a senior leadership position suited to a motivated professional with strong technical expertise, management capability, and a passion for delivering high-quality projects.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities:

Provide strategic and technical leadership to the Architectural Department
Interact with various project stakeholders
Oversee architectural design, documentation, and project delivery
Coordinate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams
Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and professional standards
Mentor and manage architectural staff

Requirements:

Master’s degree in Architecture
Professional Architect (SACAP registered) – NOT negotiable
Proven experience in a senior or leadership role
Strong knowledge of building services and infrastructure-related projects
Excellent inter-personal, communication, management, and problem-solving skills
Must be fluent in English and Afrikaans to effectively participate in bilingual meetings
Sound knowledge of various design software packages including AutoCAD, Archicad and Revit

Remuneration
Salary package is negotiable depending on qualifications, registration status, and post-qualification experience
