Professional Structural Engineer

POSITION INFO:

A Civil and Structural Consulting Engineering company is looking for an experienced Structural Engineer to join their team in Durban. 

Requirements: 

• Professionally registered with ECSA and a minimum of 7 years experience in Structural Design. 
• Experience in commercial building structures, residential, light and heavy industrial, multi-storey buildings and government sectors. 

Duties: 

• Review, update, and modification of drawings
• Ability to take the role of project leader and manage a project from start to finish.
• Visual assessments and reporting of existing civil/structural components.
• Liaising with project stakeholders from inception to completion.
• Experience in analysing, designing, specifications, report writing, design review, management, checking of design calculations, notes and reports
• Be fully conversant with design and design codes with industry analysis and design software
• Preparation of tender documentation

Management:

• Ability to manage staff.
• Ability to perform at the level of Senior Management.
• Showing initiative in working in challenging and unclear circumstances.
• Open communication approach with subordinates, colleagues and peers.
• Professional conduct and good organizational skills.
