SUMMARY:
Datacentrix is looking for a Project Coordinator to assist the Project Manager with the daily activities within a project.  Manage small to medium size projects from initiation to closure and assist the Operations Manager with various administrative functions for projects.

POSITION INFO:
Requirements:

  • Essential Matric or Grade 12
  • Bachelors-degree or suitable Project Management Qualification - CAPM, Prince2 certification, Agile, Certified Scrum Master.
  • At least 6 months experience of Software/IT Project Management experience
  • Experience in executing projects aligning to Agile, specifically Scrum would be beneficial
  • Experience in using Project Management software such as Smartsheet or MS Projects
  • Car and driver’s license.
  • Willingness to work on Sunday’s due to the requirements of some projects.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist Project Manager with the daily activities of running a project. This can be any number of tasks including but not limited to clerical duties, maintain contact with clients and parties involves through email and phone calls, answer questions and concerns, prepare presentations, and enter project data.
  • Work with team members to create a realistic timelines, following up with team members to ensure everything is running smoothly, and tracking project progress in a variety of ways.
  • Ensure project is well-organized and that it runs smoothly. This can include communicating with various stakeholders to make sure everyone is on the same page.
  • Making sure that your team has the tools they need to execute the project.
  • Creating a project schedule, with milestones, due dates and estimates for those materials that are required and other resources, such as team members, which will then be submitted to the project manager for review/approval.
  • Helping with the documentation of each phase of the project, as well as making summary reports that will be presented to various stakeholders internally and externally.
  • Keep up the morale of team members and build relationships with them to develop a strong working unit and supporting their impact on the success of a project.
  • Tracking and communicating project risks and opportunities.
  • Ensure the correct escalation processes are followed and that Project Sponsors & Project Owners are kept abreast of any unresolved issues or risks.
  • Looking for ways to increase the project’s profitability and reduce expenses where possible.
  • Ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Organising and attending stakeholder meetings.
  • Organising project team meetings and recording minutes.
